MOTO-ST Stars on Daytona Pace

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (March 2, 2007)

Brian Parriott, winner of the first ever SunTrust MOTO-ST event at Daytona International Speedway last October, showed he is poised for a repeat performance after winning the Expert GT Lights race in Friday's Championship Cup Series action on his San Jose BMW R1200S.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (March 4, 2007)

The No. 46 San Jose BMW R1200 is leading the field at the halfway point of the DAYTONA USA 300, Round 1 of the SunTrust MOTO-ST Series. Since the first turn, Brian Parriott of Calistoga, CA and Nate Kern of Cherry Hill, NJ have battled off an esteemed group of riders in the Buell Motorcycle SuperSport Twin Class to lead 36 of the 51 laps. Parriott and Kern hold bragging rights among their peers, having won the inaugural SunTrust MOTO-ST 8 Hours At Daytona here in October.

For most of the race it appeared the No. 46 San Jose BMW R1200 of Brian Parriott and Nate Kern would score a second straight SunTrust MOTO-ST victory at Daytona. The winners of last October's inaugural 8 Hours At Daytona led 50 of the first 65 laps and looked to be cruising to the win before an engine problem took them out of the race with just 14 laps to go.
